After more than 20 years as a teacher and administrator in Richmond Public Schools, Dr. Joann Henry saw firsthand the challenges faced by adults and returning students who left high school without earning a diploma.

When she retired in 2012, she became convinced that more needed to be done. Rather than accept the gap that existed, she created Dream Academy to provide a flexible, supportive pathway for students to finish what they started.
